Our Story

Frank and Cathy Showalter, pictured with the Byler family, operated Showalter’s Slaughterhouse for over 30 years before turning it over to us in 2012—now Byler’s Custom Cutting & Deer Processing. We’ve been blessed to carry on their legacy, growing into a trusted name for custom meat processing in the local community.

What began as a small family-run butcher shop has become a valued resource for farmers, hunters, and families in Rockingham County. Whether you’re bringing in beef, pork, or deer, we treat every animal with care and every customer with respect—because to us, this work isn’t just about meat—it’s about community.
